I am a member of the Quote of the Day book club, and we are currently reading, “The Wealth Choice: Success Secrets of Black Millionaires” by Dr. Dennis Kimbro. In the introduction, Dr. Kimbro wrote about a meeting he had with John H. Johnson, founder, and chief executive of Ebony Magazine.
Freedom. I woke up one morning with this word on my mind. I was like that can be my theme for 2022. I dismissed it though. I felt like it was too simple a concept and how would I incorporate it into my life. Then I spent a good portion of my day cleaning out my emails.
As the year comes to an end, we look back on the previous months and we look to the future ahead. This year has been another one for the record books. We have continued to navigate through this global pandemic and find new ways of living and being.
In my last article, "Be Unforgettable", I addressed how important it is to be yourself and let your light shine bright. After much thought, I feel I may have jumped the gun. Do I still want you to walk in a room as if you own it? YES! Do I still want you to embrace all of yourself no matter what?
As the sun rises over the westernmost point of Lake Erie, I stood with my cellphone trying to capture a picture of an all-white goose. I saw her from a distance gliding along by the trees. She stood out so beautifully amidst the darker background.
Hamilton the Musical came out on Disney Plus in July 2020 featuring the original cast. This move allowed people who may not have been able to attend the show on Broadway an opportunity to experience Hamilton in their homes.
